BTFG Dedicates 2018 Season to Marjory Stoneman Douglas Musicians

Yesterday, our South Florida community experienced an incredible loss; a senseless act of violence; a reminder that life is short and evil is still present. The act of violence committed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School hit us even closer to home, as two of our fellow band-family members were taken too soon. Gina Montalto and Alex Schachter, we did not know you personally, but our heart aches for your loss and for the pain your family and loved ones are feeling. Death is never easy. Yours is even harder. You both were too young, too talented, and too innocent to be gone from this world so soon.
Yesterday, as our community's hearts were broken, our faith in each other was also restored. We saw the community - Broward, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, all of South Florida - come together in support of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School community. We saw that love is out there. We saw that our voices and hearts will not let this act of violence go unpunished. Gina & Alex, and the 15 other victims will not die in vain. Our community will push for change.
Band Together for Good stands together with our community, with our Stoneman Douglas Color Guard & Band family, with the school, their families, and with everyone who has affected by this tragedy.
We respectfully dedicate our 2018 season to Gina & Alex. Band Together.
